These terms explain how you may use the Heat Health Calculator, including its safety limits, your choices, and the limited release. Please read them carefully. If you have questions, email info@heathealth.co.
Account eligibility and your choices
Heat Health Inc. provides the Heat Health Calculator at heathealth.co for personal educational use. An account is required. You must be at least 18 and legally able to enter this agreement where you live. The service is intended for eligible adults worldwide, subject to applicable local law. Do not use the service where its provision or your use is prohibited.
Account registration requires your name, email address, birthdate, sex assigned at birth, height, weight, and location limited to country and state or equivalent administrative region. No street address, precise location, device connection, or imported health record is requested for calculator use. The account profile is retained separately from your session history. Our Privacy Notice describes its use and your rights.
You may calculate without saving a session or choose to save a session to your account. Data are manually entered. The calculator does not import wearable or third-party data or exchange data with other Heat Health services. Both saving choices are features of this single calculator and have the same educational limitations and safety warnings.
The only choices in this terms-acceptance section are agreement to the terms and optional Heat Health marketing emails. The anonymized-data research uses described below are included in these terms, subject to applicable law. The ability to unsubscribe does not waive legal rights or authorize undisclosed data uses. You must accept these terms before using the calculator; if you do not accept them, do not use it.
What the calculator does and does not do
The calculator generates estimates from the information you enter and the model’s assumptions. Heat Health Units are an investigational, unvalidated educational metric. “Investigational” describes the developing metric; it does not mean that you are enrolled in an approved clinical trial. Outputs may be incomplete, inaccurate, or unsuitable for your circumstances.
Heat Health Units are not a measurement of your actual core body temperature, internal heat load, physiologic dose, or biological response. They do not establish a safe exposure time or temperature, a medically appropriate target, heat tolerance, readiness to exercise, medical clearance, or a probability of health benefit or harm. A higher number does not mean a healthier or safer session. Comparisons between people, devices, environments, or sessions may be misleading.
The calculator is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, prevent, or monitor disease. It is not medical advice, a medical assessment, an emergency service, or a replacement for professional judgment. No clinician–patient relationship is created. Heat Health does not watch your session, review your results in real time, or contact you when you may be in danger.
Do not use an estimate to start, extend, intensify, or resume heat exposure, or to disregard symptoms, equipment instructions, a clinician’s advice, or an established safety protocol. Do not use it for workplace heat-safety compliance, athletic clearance, or decisions about another person.
Heat exposure can cause serious harm
Heat exposure, including sauna use, hot-water immersion, and exercise in heat, can cause dehydration, burns, dizziness, fainting, heat exhaustion, heat stroke, injury, and death. A seemingly favorable estimate does not make an activity safe. Individual risk may change with health conditions, medications, pregnancy, illness, hydration, alcohol or other substances, acclimatization, and the environment.
If you have a health condition, take medication, are pregnant, or are unsure whether heat exposure is appropriate, ask a qualified healthcare professional before participating. The calculator cannot determine whether an activity is appropriate for you.
Stop heat exposure and move to a cooler place if you feel unwell, dizzy, weak, nauseated, or develop a headache or other concerning symptoms. Seek medical help if symptoms are severe, worsen, or do not resolve. Confusion, collapse, loss of consciousness, or suspected heat stroke require emergency help: call 911 in the United States or your local emergency number. Do not wait for a calculator result. Follow emergency personnel’s instructions.
Your responsibilities and permitted use
Provide information accurately to the best of your knowledge. Incorrect inputs, device errors, changing conditions, and model limitations can change results. You remain responsible for your independent decisions and for following professional advice and applicable safety instructions.
You may use the calculator for lawful personal education. Do not interfere with security, misuse the service, submit unlawful material, infringe another person’s rights, or represent the output as clinically validated or as a Heat Health endorsement of an activity. Heat Health retains its rights in the software, content, and methodology; these terms grant only permission to use the service as described.
Calculate and save history
When you choose to save a session, Heat Health stores the session entries and calculated results with your account so you can review them over time. Your history is identified or linkable information. A trend is not a measurement of physiological change, proof of a health benefit, or confirmation that a session was safe.
Saved history is retained while your account is active, unless you delete it sooner or applicable law requires a shorter period. After 24 months of account inactivity, Heat Health will delete the inactive account and its saved history after advance notice to your registered email address. The notice will state the deletion date and how you can retain the account by signing in before that date. Limited legal/compliance records may remain only as permitted by applicable law and the Privacy Notice.
You can request access, correction, deletion, or account closure by emailing info@heathealth.co. Deleting particular records or closing the account may make the related history unavailable. Heat Health will comply with applicable deletion duties, including those concerning providers and backups; it will explain any lawful exception rather than promising that every system copy disappears instantly.
Saved information may be lawfully anonymized for the future research described below. Saving a session is not blanket consent to identifiable research or individual-record disclosure. You may choose not to save a session within this calculator; those unsaved entries and results are discarded after calculation and excluded from research. This is a saving preference, not a separate calculator offering.
Anonymized data for future research
Heat Health may lawfully create genuinely anonymized data from account information and saved session entries and results, and may retain and use that anonymous data for current and future research, statistical analysis, evaluation of heat-exposure patterns, improvement of the calculator and related educational or wellness products, and scientific or educational publications. Heat Health may also share genuinely anonymous datasets and aggregate findings with researchers for these purposes, subject to safeguards against reidentification and unauthorized onward use. These activities may support commercial products.
“Genuinely anonymized” means that the information meets the applicable legal standard for anonymity in its intended use and disclosure, so that you cannot reasonably be identified or linked to it. Removing your name or replacing it with a code is not enough. Heat Health will not attempt to reidentify anonymous data and will require research recipients not to reidentify it or combine it with other information to identify people.
The original information remains protected personal information until effective anonymization is complete. Its collection and the anonymization process must be lawful, including any required additional permission. This agreement does not replace consent that the law requires separately. It does not authorize identifiable or coded research records to be shared with outside researchers or enable internal identifiable research unrelated to providing the service.
Unsaved session entries and results are discarded and are not used to create research datasets. Once information is genuinely anonymous and can no longer reasonably be linked to you, it may be retained for subsequent research and may not be possible to identify and remove your contribution. This does not restrict your rights over information that remains identifiable or coded.
Optional emails from Heat Health
You may choose to receive emails from Heat Health containing educational content, product news, and promotional offers, including sponsored offers sent by Heat Health. Heat Health is the sender; advertisers and sponsors do not receive your contact details, marketing lists, account profile, session information, or research records for their own marketing under this choice. Offers are not selected using your session data, calculated results, or health inferences.
The email choice is optional, starts unchecked, and does not affect calculator access. You may opt out or unsubscribe at any time through the link in each marketing email or by contacting info@heathealth.co. Heat Health will act without undue delay and within the applicable legal deadline, no later than 10 business days. Necessary nonpromotional account, security, privacy, or deletion notices may continue. The Privacy Notice explains related processing and rights.
Voluntary assumption of risk and limited release
Please read carefully: this section affects your legal rights.
You understand the calculator’s limitations and the risks described above. If you independently choose to undertake heat exposure or exercise, you voluntarily accept the inherent risks of that activity, including risks the calculator cannot identify or predict.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, you release Heat Health Inc. and its officers, directors, and employees from claims for injury, death, or property damage arising from your voluntary heat exposure in reliance on the calculator, including claims caused by their ordinary negligence in providing the calculator or its educational information. This is a limited release; it is not a promise that an activity is safe.
This release does not apply to gross negligence, reckless or intentional misconduct, fraud, violations of privacy or data-security obligations, or any liability or right that applicable law does not permit you to release. It does not bind people who have not validly agreed to it. If your jurisdiction prohibits a particular release, that release does not apply to you.
Warranty disclaimer and limits on damages
To the extent permitted by law, the calculator and educational content are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or noninfringement. Heat Health does not warrant accuracy, uninterrupted availability, error-free operation, or any health, fitness, or performance outcome. This disclaimer does not negate express commitments in the applicable privacy notice or mandatory consumer protections.
To the extent permitted by law, Heat Health and its officers, directors, and employees are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages arising from use of the calculator. These limitations apply only to the extent the law permits.
The exclusion does not apply to gross negligence, reckless or intentional misconduct, fraud, privacy or data-security violations, or other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. It does not limit personal-injury or death liability where prohibited. No provision prevents a complaint to a regulator or the exercise of nonwaivable rights.
Third party claims arising from misuse
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to indemnify Heat Health Inc. and its officers, directors, employees, and service providers against third-party claims, judgments, settlements you approve, and reasonable defense costs, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, to the extent caused by your unlawful use of the service, intentional falsification or impersonation, unauthorized submission or disclosure of another person’s information, infringement of another person’s intellectual-property or privacy rights, or material breach of these terms involving misuse. Ordinary good-faith input errors are not intentional falsification. This indemnity applies only to the portion of loss attributable to your covered conduct.
It does not apply to your ordinary authorized use or your own claims against Heat Health. It does not cover loss caused by an indemnified party’s negligence or other acts or omissions, privacy or security failures, breach of its commitments, fraud, or misconduct; nor does it impose obligations prohibited by law. You do not agree to insure Heat Health against its own conduct or reimburse penalties that cannot lawfully be shifted.
Heat Health must promptly notify you of a covered claim and reasonably cooperate in the defense. You may participate through counsel. Any duty to fund or assume a defense applies only to covered claims and to the extent lawful; disputed coverage is not resolved solely by Heat Health’s demand. Heat Health may retain control where reasonably necessary to protect its rights, but recoverable costs must be reasonable and attributable to covered conduct. Neither party may settle in a way that imposes an admission, nonmonetary obligation, or payment on the other without that party’s written consent. This section survives termination only for covered conduct occurring while these terms applied.
Changes legal rights and disputes
Heat Health may update or discontinue the calculator. Material changes to these terms will be identified with a new version and presented for acceptance before they govern subsequent use. A change does not retroactively expand a release or authorize a new data use. Any legally required new privacy consent will be obtained separately.
These terms do not require arbitration, waive class proceedings, restrict you to a particular court, or override mandatory protections where you live. Disputes are governed by the law and jurisdiction rules that otherwise apply. If a provision is unenforceable, the remainder applies only to the extent lawful. No provision prevents a complaint to a regulator, a lawful privacy request, or another nonwaivable right.
Acceptance and contact
The Terms and Conditions above include the limited release, warranty disclaimer, and lawful liability exclusions. The Privacy Notice is available for review alongside them; acknowledging these terms is not blanket consent to unrelated processing or a substitute for any consent required by law. You may keep a copy before agreeing.
By selecting the required acceptance below and continuing, you agree to these Terms and Conditions. Only the optional second choice authorizes the Heat Health marketing emails described above. It is not required for calculator use.
